Considering Tik Tok, AI, and so many other platforms, apps and technologies that can easily distort reality, isn’t it refreshing when you meet/find a person who is real, consistent, open, and has a sense of inner togetherness with less drama?
Think those attributes might make the better, partner, sales person, friend? You betcha!
Even if you’ve got it all together, take a look at a (not THE) list of things you can do to cultivate authenticity in your life:
1). Know Yourself: Spend time reflecting on your values, beliefs, strengths, weaknesses and passions. Understanding yourself is the foundation of authenticity. (I have a great system for doing this. Call or email)
2). Be Honest: Practice honesty in all aspects of your life, whether it’s in your relationships, work, or personal endeavors. Be truthful about your thoughts, feelings, and actions.
3). Trust Your Intuition: Listen to your inner voice and trust your instincts. Your intuition often guides you towards authentic decisions and actions.
4). Embrace Vulnerability: Embrace vulnerability as a strength rather than a weakness. Share your true thoughts and feelings with others, even if it feels uncomfortable.
5). Set Boundaries: Establish healthy boundaries to protect your authenticity. Learn to say ‘no’ to things that don’t align with your values or priorities.
6). Live in Alignment: Align your actions with your values and beliefs. Ensure that your choices reflect who you truly are and what you stand for.
7). Practice Self-Compassion: Be kind to yourself and accept your imperfections. Self-compassion allows you to embrace your authentic self without judgment.
8). Cultivate Authentic Relationships: Surround yourself with people who accept you for who you are and encourage your authenticity. Build relationships based on honesty, trust, and mutual respect.
9). Express Yourself Creatively: Find creative outlets to express your authentic self, whether it’s through art, writing, music, or any other form of self-expression.
10). Live Mindfully: Practice mindfulness to stay present in the moment and connected to your authentic self. Pay attention to your thoughts, feelings, and sensations without judgment.
11). Learn from Mistakes: Embrace failures and setbacks as opportunities for growth. Use them as learning experiences to further understand yourself and refine your authenticity.
12). Stay True to Your Principles: Stand firm in your principles and values, even in the face of opposition or adversity. Your authenticity should not waver based on external pressures.
13). Seek Authenticity, Not Approval: Focus on being authentic for yourself rather than seeking validation or approval from others. Authenticity comes from within and doesn’t depend on external validation.
14). Be Open to Change: Embrace change as a natural part of life and growth. Allow yourself to evolve authentically over time, staying true to your core values while adapting to new experiences and perspectives.
